Aaron Rupar is getting called out for this tweet where he said GOP Rep. Nancy Mace is “suggesting that people should get Covid rather than get vaccinated because natural immunity is preferable.”
Except that’s not even close to what she said, meaning, it’s Rupar who is the irresponsible one here. Watch the short clip for yourself:
Nancy Mace is on Fox News suggesting that people should get Covid rather than get vaccinated because natural immunity is preferable.
Take a second to ponder how irresponsible that is. pic.twitter.com/W1AfDZQEb1

Reason assistant editor Bill Binion accused him of “blatantly lying to stir outrage,” which is EXACTLY what he did:
That is not even kind of what she said, but blatantly lying to stir outrage gets Aaron more attention, I guess. Sad that certain journalists would rather push vanity projects at the expense of what we’re actually supposed to be doing: informing people. So tired of this bullshit. https://t.co/ohXhwjGlNE

There’s nothing even controversial about what Mace said, or there shouldn’t be:
That’s actually not what she’s suggesting. She is saying that public policy rules should take into account both individuals who have been vaccinated & individuals who have already had covid & thus have natural immunity. Recognizing the reality of natural immunity is not anti-vax. https://t.co/XOtfZUM5gq

And we SHOULD be studying natural immunity:
mace literally said that natural immunity to covid should be studied. you’re the irresponsible party here, aaron. https://t.co/nRnaxVKe2I

Rupar keeps doing it, too:
Yet another viral Rupar tweet describing what’s actually *not* being said in the clip he’s sharing.
Take a second to ponder how irresponsible that is. https://t.co/sujZynvMkc

Rupar later admitted the “tweet could’ve been worded better,” yet he’s left the original tweet up:
This tweet could've been worded better. Mace argues Biden should be more like DeSantis & drop mandates b/c getting Covid confers more protection than vaccines
2 issues: she overlooks Covid infections killing ~775k Americans & she's wrong about vaccines https://t.co/T61qptvW6d

And because he left it up, it’s going viral right now on lefty Twitter:
Idiot Congresswoman @RepNancyMace and Idiot Ex-Congressman @jasoninthehouse encouraging @foxnews viewers to catch and spread Covid-19: https://t.co/wypB2CaNok

Mission accomplished, Aaron:
