The BEST part of the Olivia Rodrigo-Biden-shoehorn story is how CNN and other journos just assumed it could be true

We regret to inform you that President Joe Biden did not give pop star Olivia Rodrigo a shoehorn with the presidential seal on it when she visited the White House to promote the COVID-19 vaccine in July. It was actually a presidential ice cream scoop:

Rodrigo blamed her mother for the mixup:

But the best part of the story is how CNN and other journos just assumed this odd gift could be true, as in, this is EXACTLY what an elderly president would hand out as official White House swag:
