Celtics star Enes Kanter, who has been calling out China’s leader Xi Jinping in a series of tweets, escalated matters on Sunday with the debut of his new Xinnie the Pooh shoe:
XI JINPING and the Chinese Communist Party
Someone has to teach you a lesson,
I will NEVER apologize for speaking the truth.
You can NOT buy me.
You can NOT scare me.
You can NOT silence me.Bring it on!! #FreedomShoes#XinnieThePooh pic.twitter.com/JFGEgIaXlN

Xi is famously outraged by the comparison and Pooh is subject to censorship in China:
Mighty China…
Economic engine of the world…
Political powerhouse among nations…
Afraid of nothing…
Except a cartoon bear.

And now we wait to see if the NBA cracks down on this:
Enes Kanter is on fire and fearless. I wonder how long until the craven NBA buckles to pressure from Beijing. @EnesKanter #EnesKanter #FreeTibet #China #NBA75 #NBA https://t.co/5g27K7OGG3

But they should do the opposite and EMBRACE it:
come on, @NBA… RT it and make history https://t.co/FwKZ97g5E3
