SHOT. . .
The group Justice Democrats — the same people behind Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s surprise win in the 2018 primary against 10-term-incumbent and Democratic Caucus Chair Joe Crowley — is putting its might behind Rana Abdelhamid in a bid to unseat Dem Rep. Carolyn Maloney in NY’s 12th congressional district:
Justice Democrats, the group that helped engineer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s win three years ago, has a new goal: unseating Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York.

CHASER. . .
But first, Rana Abdelhamid is going to have to explain to voters why someone who doesn’t actually live in the 12th congressional district should represent the 12th congressional district:
Fourth paragraph from the end…
"And she volunteered that she does not live in the district… a fact that is almost certain to become an issue in the campaign."

Cool. Let us know when you move to the NY12 though:
I’m running for Congress because #NY12 is one of the most diverse districts in America — but also one of the most unequal.
It's time for a leader who went to NYC public schools, isn’t a millionaire, and answers to all of us — not corporate PACs.https://t.co/eLDa7A9xhd

You know, the NYT could’ve saved us all a lot of time and put that crucial detail at the beginning of the article, but we look forward to libs throwing money at this race anyway:
Grassroots support will help fuel this campaign for progressive change. I'm not taking a dime of corporate PAC money. We need your support to take on the establishment and win. Contribute $5, $27, $50, or whatever you can to help us meet our first goal!https://t.co/tua8knSTER
