It looks like the local reporter who first reported on the dreadlocks attack hoax has some explaining to do.

When they were alleging racism, WUSA filmed at least 5 segments over 5 days plastering a 12-year old & her grandma's name & picture all over.

You’d think she would be sorry about it, but nah:

The NAACP looks pretty bad in all of this, too:
The NAACP tried to cover up the hoax and make it seem like a concession, saying the Allen family "reached a private resolution with the school" so a rally should be cancelled.

And WUSA was still using the story to generate outrage clicks even though the underlying hoax had already been exposed:
