Fox News’ Tomi Lahren has apologized after she asked during last night’s debate, “Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown?”:
I apologize for my comment on Kamala’s personal relationship. It was the wrong choice of words. There are many other things to take her to task for and I will stick to those.

The offending tweet is still up:
Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown?

She was called out last night by a number of people, including Fox News’ Kat Timpf:
I am curious to know what you think bringing a woman’s personal/sexual life into this accomplishes. Men do that to us enough as it is. I’m honestly asking. https://t.co/MgO0yMrAHT

And according to Brian Stelter’s newsletter, multiple Fox employees were unhappy with her tweet:
I did hear from several Fox employees who reached out to me on their own accord. “It makes me sick that I work for the same company as Tomi Lahren,” one Fox employee told me. “Mindblowing how we give this woman a job.” Another employee texted me the URL to Lahren’s tweet, calling it “unacceptable.”
We’ll note that Lahren double and triple-downed on it last night even as criticism mounted:
Ask Willie Brown how Kamala became AG of CA…

I didn’t make this up. Willie Brown admitted it. The truth hurts. https://t.co/WvmhXWa5kO

And she’s touched on this before on her show:
Lahren previously devoted an episode of her Fox Nation show to Harris “using an extramarital affair to boost her political career” and “dating [her] way to the top” https://t.co/9JYx207A5lhttps://t.co/lxIeQlUn4p

So, why apologize now? It does sound like Fox suits forced her hand on this:
Somebody got called into the principal's office https://t.co/9eyL1tJxM8

uh oh Tomi got in trouble with the bosses https://t.co/7XnjGTCrE2
