Last night we told you how CNN’s Jim Acosta, who is allegedly a journalist and whose job it is to question what a politician says and not just take him or her at her word, hit out at President Trump for answering a question from a fellow member of the media about Ilhan Omar possibly committing immigration fraud by marrying her brother. Acosta linked to an AP article where Omar denied the charge as if that was the end of it all:

And Caleb Hull slapped him around for just taking this at face value:

That AP article Acosta linked to is from October 17, 2018 — before the election — and he left out the part where Omar “declined to provide documents or answer specific questions when pressed”:

Now, here’s where it gets even worse for Acosta. The reason Omar didn’t provide any documentation right before the election is that she knew she was guilty! Omar actually filed joint tax returns “with her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, while she was still legally married to but separated from” her first husband, who may be her brother. From the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:
New investigative documents released by a state agency have given fresh life to lingering questions about the marital history of Rep. Ilhan Omar and whether she once married a man — possibly her own brother — to skirt immigration laws.
Omar has denied the allegations in the past, dismissing them as “baseless rumors” first raised in an online Somali politics forum and championed by conservative bloggers during her 2016 campaign for the Minnesota House. But she said little then or since about Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the former husband who swept into her life in 2009 before a 2011 separation.
The questions surfaced again this month in a state probe of campaign finance violations showing that Omar filed federal taxes in 2014 and 2015 with her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, while she was still legally married to but separated from Elmi.
As the local journalists, who we are told are essential to American democracy, have noted, Rep. Omar has yet to explain how or why the tax return error happened:
Although she has legally corrected the discrepancy, she has declined to say anything about how or why it happened.
Acosta can’t even be bothered to stay current on the story he’s so outraged about?
