SHAMELESS: Jussie Smollett's attorneys attempt to throw the Osundairo brothers under the proverbial bus

Jussie Smollett’s attorneys made the rounds last night and this morning with a unified message: Brothers Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo should be investigated for the alleged attack on their client.

Jussie Smollett's attorney, Patricia Browne Holmes, today said the Nigerian brothers committed the hate crime against her client. Tonight she said she has "no idea" what their motive could have been.

And here’s Tina Glandian talking with “Good Morning America” this morning:

Smollett's other attorney, Tina Glandian, suggested on GMA that the Nigerian brothers are also behind the death threat the Chicago PD says Smollett sent himself.

When asked if Smollett 100% denies sending it to himself, Glandian said: "I believe so."

It’s almost like Smollett’s team thinks it’s OK to destroy the lives of these Nigerian brothers if it means Smollett can get back to being a celebrity in good standing.

As we told you yesterday, even the Cook County State Attorney’s office thinks he’s guilty, although they did let him walk on the most sweetheart of deals:

NEW from Chicago: Joe Magats, the first assistant state's attorney who made the final decision to drop the charges against Jussie Smollett, says in an interview: "We didn't exonerate him."

Magats, the asst state's atty, said he saw no problems with the police investigation or the evidence against Smollett. The charges against Smollett were dropped in return for his agreement to do community service, he said, and for forfeiting his bond to the city of Chicago.

More from the asst state's attorney: "Here's the thing — we work to prioritize violent crime and the drivers of violent crime. Public safety is our number one priority. I don't see Jussie Smollett as a threat to public safety."
