Breaking news from Chicago:
Just got a tip from my Chicago PD source that SA Kim Foxx is going to drop the charges against #JussieSmollett. The question @Chicago_Police now have for him is how does #smollett plan to reimburse the city for all the money that was spent on his investigation?

Update 5:
After reviewing details and evidence, the state says #JussieSmollett’s work in the community is why they are axing the case. @fox32news

This is partially why the case is dropped, lawyers from #JussieSmollett’s camp says “indictment should never have been filed in the first place… The case is voluntarily discontinued by the prosecutor.” @fox32news https://t.co/o4UPcZ5zzn

So, are there any details of this community service?
My #CPD tip says SA Kim Foxx’s office is dropping the charges against #JussieSmollett because “he already did community service”. It’s unclear when he actually did that community service.

Update 6: They dropped the charges for $10,000?
“After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollet’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition & appropriate resolution…” Cook County SAO

Cop friend: Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson is "furious" over the Smollett development, was complete blindsided by Foxx's decision.
