Taylor Swift, who’s a Tennessee resident, just endorsed Democrat Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn:
From her Instagram post:
She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives.
And she’s appalled by Rep. Blackburn’s record:
Taylor Swift, who usually stays out of politics, endorses Phil Bredesen for Senate and slams Rep. Marsha Blackburn: "Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me." https://t.co/c6Or9DR0s1

What she left out is that Bredesen said he would’ve voted to confirm SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh:
Or if you want to take a positive spin on it:@taylorswift13 is defining the new centrist position in America: For the laws fighting against violence against women, fighting for gay rights…and…fighting for Brett Kavanaugh.

In other words, Cocaine Mitch wins again:

And many on Twitter are confused:
2018 has Kanye in a MAGA hat and Taylor Swift talking about systemic racism. pic.twitter.com/dngYuOOTbo

If you had told me two years ago Kanye would be running around in a MAGA hat while Taylor Swift was endorsing democratic candidates, I would have smacked you to the ground and stolen your wallet for wasting my time.

Taylor Swift comes out as a Dem as Kanye is stumping for Trump. Life comes at you fast https://t.co/8au0Ns5nHH

And since Marsha Blackburn held a fundraiser at at Taylor Swift concert and has quote her lyrics, attacking the pop star could be problematic:
2. @MarshaBlackburn held a fundraiser at a Taylor Swift concert in the past. She can’t really call Taylor an out of touch liberal or something like that…. https://t.co/6JvuyLpWIu

3. And she’s referenced Taylor in the past. pic.twitter.com/t0SyOb1O6d

Now, will she make a difference?
4. The power of celebs in political races is vastly overstated…and while I don't think Taylor can convince a large group of voters to flip their vote, I wouldn't be surprised if she could get 10,000-20,000 of her fans in Tenn to vote. In a tight race that can be the difference.

Or is it this:
Yall. Don’t forget that Taylor Swift is a sexual assault survivor who took her abuser to trial.
