Sen. Dianne Feinstein released a statement a few minutes ago that said she has sent a letter she received on Brett Kavanaugh to “federal investigative authorities”:
NEW: Senator Dianne Feinstein has referred information she received from an individual regarding Judge Kavanaugh "to federal investigative authorities."

According the the statement, the individual “declined to come forward or press the matter further,” but Feinstein referred the letter anyway:

BuzzFeed is reporting that the letter was sent to the FBI:
To be clear, Feinstein says "federal investigative authorities." @BuzzFeedNews reported it was FBI https://t.co/bSfCRRa7cr

Nobody seems to know exactly what’s in the letter, but it’s rumored to involve “a decades-old incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman”:
“Multiple sources have told HuffPost that the document in question is a letter sent to Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) that concerns a decades-old incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman.”https://t.co/rH2oMOVxte https://t.co/RFWDgSp11F

The Intercept reported yesterday that it’s from when Kavanaugh and the woman were in high school together:
So the Dianne Feinstein letter is reportedly a fourth-hand telling of a story that dates back to when Kavanaugh was in high school. If this is the new Senate standard, how many people have we disqualified from public service? https://t.co/Y427fCV4ps pic.twitter.com/BcweuQNsaU

Feinstein has not shared the contents of the secret letter with other Dems on the Judiciary Committee:

We’ve been through this before:
Feinstein's secret letter reminds me of Harry Reid's secret Mitt-never-paid-taxes source.

Because this smells like a “stunt”:
Been away from Twitter this AM…do I really need to pay attention to this dumb Feinstein/Kavanaugh stunt?

To be continued:
So there’s a super secret letter, not shared w/ R’s, that cannot be commented on by the people confirming its existence — & could involve an alleged incident (no details) that might or might not have occurred in the early 80s, when Kavanaugh was in high school. Seems legit. ?
