MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who helped promote the candidacy of Donald Trump throughout 2016, has a new op-ed out in the Washington Post where he argues that the president is “damaging the dream of America more than any terrorist attack ever could”:
My Latest—> Trump is damaging the dream of America more than any terrorist attack ever could. https://t.co/DEnYurEFmW
— Joe Scarborough (@JoeNBC) September 11, 2018
His conclusion:
The question for voters this fall is whether their country will move beyond this troubled chapter in history or whether they will continue supporting a politician who has done more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary ever could.
Weird. He never seemed to express these concerns when he was friendly with then candidate Trump and allowed him to call into the show whenever he wanted:
What's it like to know you spent years helping elevate someone that you now say is more dangerous than 9/11 terrorists, Joe? https://t.co/IMW7Xk674h

“Freaking stupid” puts it mildly:
This premise is freaking stupid, just provocative for the sake of being provocative. https://t.co/wZHtLIHpTQ

Good advice for today, and every day:
Ignore people like this today.
Focus on the memories of those who sacrificed themselves to save others.
Remember the day. https://t.co/x0xnEPFBrB

And we say this a lot, because it’s true: This is why Trump won, and why he’ll keep winning:
It's a good thing to keep an open mind, but not so much that your brains fall out. Reckless hyperbole like this, by the way, is one of the reasons Trump won in 2016. https://t.co/8dXvXfwimA
