Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) just announced during the confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh that he is going to release an email marked “committee confidential,” which would break the rules of the Senate and could lead to his eventual expulsion:

Sen. Cornyn called it “irresponsible conduct unbecoming a Senator”:

And said that “running for president is no excuse for breaking Senate rules”:

Sen. Booker then compared himself to “Spartacus,” who dies at the end of the movie FWIW:

Video here:

Jim Geraghty sums it up: “Man, there’s grandstanding, and then there’s Cory Booker grandstanding by pledging to release confidential documents and daring your colleagues to expel you from the Senate. This is the Sistine Chapel of grandstanding.”

Over to you, Cocaine Mitch:

Well, this is going to be another insane day.
