Congratulation to Patrick Reed, winner of the 2018 Masters tournament!
Less than two years after winning The Barclays at @BethpageGolf, Patrick Reed is the new #Masters champions. That's pretty cool. @News12LI pic.twitter.com/UYQxgmxlXO

Reed, who was signed by Nike on January 4 was reportedly not even up on the company’s golf website yet:
Nike announced it signed Patrick Reed on Jan. 4.
He still isn't on the Nike Golf website.
Might want to work on that.

An omission that was quickly corrected:
Yesterday, Patrick Reed wasn't listed on Nike Golf's website.
He is now.

But not everyone was happy for young Reed. The HuffPost’s Paige Lavender deleted a tweet saying she was happy for the golfer, calling him “terrible” and a “bigot”:
I deleted this because I didn't realize how terrible/what a bigot this guy was. Booooo. pic.twitter.com/2x5JVwy1Se

Lavender is referring to a 2014 incident where Reed was caught on camera making a gay slur after missing a put:
Well, apparently not always nice: https://t.co/EtHEWogCsw
Blah. https://t.co/RAYFPVRBWg

Others are jumping on this storyline as well:
“Why is nobody happy about Patrick Reed?”
Does cursory Google and Twitter search.
“Oh.”#TheMasters

And:
Quite the unflattering profile from 2015 of a troubled athlete, today's Masters champion Patrick Reed. https://t.co/ycYtPesnHI

Wait until they find this photo from 2014!

Anyway, enjoy the moment, Patrick for tomorrow you’ll have a mob to answer to.
