SJWs at NY high school force cancellation of musical because lead actress was white

Social justice warriors at Ithaca High School in upstate New York have shut down the school’s production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” because a white student was cast as Esmeralda, who in Victor Hugo’s book has a French father and Roma mother:

Protests started after an African-American student lost out on the lead. From Fox News

Social justice activists at a New York high school successfully shut down a production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” after a white student landed a lead role.

Protests of the production began when an African-American student quit Ithaca High School’s musical production due to the role of Esmeralda being given to a white classmate.

“It shows you that theater wasn’t made for you,” the student told the Ithaca Journal. “And it shows you that, if you can’t get the parts that are written for you, what parts are you going to get?”

Where does this end?

It really is:

Instead of “Hunchback,” The Ithaca City School District announced a new, “collaborative project” instead:

As you may already be aware, The Hunchback of Notre Dame will not be performed this spring.  In lieu of the planned musical, another collaborative project will provide young people and our community the opportunity to engage together while fully expressing the talents of our students.  A new project is currently being discussed by students, families, and educators.  This project will also engage the talents and skills of students previously cast.  More information will follow shortly.

Sounds riveting.
