What is a parent? Yet another question that was once easily answered has been thrown into the wood chipper of wokeness. Twitter users responded to Halli, the father of a non-binary child who stated he would follow his child anywhere that’s ‘important to them’.
What if a busy street is important to them? A bar? Can we get a strip club?!
I have a child that identifies as non-binary.
They might identity that way their entire life. Or it might be a phase they go through.
Either way, my role as a parent is unconditional love, understanding and support.
If it's important to them I will follow them anywhere.

We don’t get it.
Look, we’re not dumping on Halli here. We don’t know the guy. He seems like a nice enough fellow from a cursory review of a few of his tweets.
What we are dumping on is the all-too-common notion that parents are simply along for the ride to fully support whatever their kid wants to try.
Parents teach. Parents guide. Parents instruct. And, yes, they do all that with unconditional love, understanding, and support.
Those people who have duped half the parent population into believing that their job is to get out of their kid’s way just want to remove YOU from the equation so THEY can teach your child what they want them to know and believe.
Somebody’s going to ‘indoctrinate’ (aka: teach) your kids. It better darn well be you.
You’re the parent. They’re supposed to follow you.

Seems simple enough, right? Nope.
That's bad parenting. Children should not have their parents' standards forced on them.
Growing up is a journey, and we're there to support them through it, not obstruct their way for our own selfish intent.

‘Bad parenting’ is refusing to pass your own standards on to the people you love more than anything in the world, so some stranger can force their standards on them instead.
Get real.
This. Is. Parenting. Thank you. 🏳️🌈

‘Thank you for getting out of the way so every facet of modern media and the education system can indoctrinate your child MY way.’
You realize your child is a child, right?
— Eva Kurilova (@eva_kurilova) April 14, 2023
It’s absolutely absurd, right?
‘I’m going to send my kid to school.’
‘Why?’
‘Because they don’t know much about anything.’
‘Are you going to say anything about them thinking they’re non-binary?’
‘Oh no, I need to step back and let them figure that out on their own.’
No. That is most certainly not your role

They’ve been led to believe they’re bad for parenting. Non-binary? Trans? Two spirit? None of your business, Dad!
You are the adult here, so your job is to lead, not follow.

‘If your kid jumped off a cliff, would you follow?’
Modern parent: ‘I mean, I guess … if it’s important to them.’
Guess what? There’s nothing non-binary about jumping off cliffs. If you can help your kid avoid confusion about his or her gender, you should.
As a child I identified as a tank for almost a year. My parents didn’t coddle me in my delusion. https://t.co/S7I5ABeR0T

Being a tank would be sort of cool though.
What would a non-binary tank look like?
I have a child that likes to touch hot stoves.
They might continue that way their entire life. Or it might be a phase they go through.
Either way, my role as a parent is unconditional love, understanding and support.
If it's important to them I will follow them anywhere. https://t.co/lgUuh5xgFm

The funny thing is, parents like this won’t let their kids touch hot stoves, run into traffic, or listen to Justin Bieber on purpose. Those things would be crazy.
They will, however, get completely out of the way and allow their child to struggle with life-altering thoughts about gender identity nonsense that is being force fed to them by modern culture.
That’s crazy too.
You don't follow your children anywhere. They can take you right off a cliff.
You lead from the front.
That means having the guts to tell your children the truth and to stand up to nonsense.
You can love them and tell them no. https://t.co/tAYHJIZZVj

What Pinky said.
‘Dad, I’ve been thinking about careers lately, and I’m leaning towards selling motivational products featuring Joe Biden.’
‘Son, we need to have a talk …’
‘Dad, I’ve been thinking I’m not a boy or a girl … like non-binary or something …’
‘Whatever’s important to you, son. You lead the way.’
No. That’s you surrendering your role as parent, a difficult job, for easy social media likes, which are worthless.
You chose yourself over your kid; you use fake praise to excuse that dereliction.
Of course you should love your child w all your heart. But *you’re* the adult. https://t.co/gWfZRr4REL

It’s not hard, folks. Just be the adult, not the child. Parenting doesn’t come with a non-binary option.
