A 33-year-old man was arrested and is facing assault charges after chucking a beer can at Senator Ted Cruz, who was standing in the back of a Humvee with his daughter, Catherine, during the Astros World Series parade.
It’s not clear whether the can was empty or full (which would pose a greater threat).
MSNBC’s Chris Hayes rightly called out the violent behavior.
Do not do this! It’s not funny or some kind of gag. It’s bad and toxic and dangerous. https://t.co/KUYvbg5HKZ

While the Left decried ‘conspiracy theories’ from the Right about the Pelosi assault, which were fueled by inaccurate and vague reporting by the news media and police, what we didn’t see were conservatives celebrating the violent act itself.
Many liberals on Twitter expressed approval for the beer can barrage of a U.S. Senator, with his young daughter standing right next to him, and many openly celebrated the incident.
yeah, a tequila bottle would've been much more effective

The attempt wasn’t violent enough for this charming gentleman.
No, it's objectively hilarious
— NickInStLouis (@NickInStLouis) November 7, 2022
They love the violence.
I get what you’re saying but if you were one of the millions of us that nearly froze to death in our homes (and many did) while he jetted off to Cancun and just completely abandoned his constituents- you might feel differently.
— Tanya_TX (@t_steinwald) November 7, 2022
This lady’s okay with the violence because she can’t figure out how to work a blanket.
Chris your approach is why Ds have lost so many voters who should vote D but don't due to takes like that which you just wrote.

Here’s a dude mad at Chris Hayes for speaking out against the beer can toss.
‘We’d have more D voters, Chris, if you’d just promote more political violence!’ LOL.
One person out of a literal parade of people. Share the hundreds of people booing Ted and not this. Everyone attending, except for ONE PERSON literally DID NOT DO THIS. This is how we end up with "BLM PROTESTS WERE AS VIOLENT AS J6."
— Aaron Christianson (@OpposableBum) November 7, 2022
This guy’s mad that Chris highlighted the one guy who threw a beer can at Ted Cruz. Last week he was probably saying ‘I can’t believe out of millions of people, you focused on the one guy who attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer!’ Yeah, probably not.
Also, January 6 was nowhere near as violent as the riots that erupted from the BLM protests.
If it’s not funny why am I laughing
— Ben Donovan (@RevBenDonovan) November 8, 2022
There are probably a multitude of reasons, Ben. It probably started with bad parenting.
Civility for the fascists always ends well.

Many of them actually believe the ‘fascist’ narrative. That’s the danger of having the President of the United States tell stupid people they are surrounded by fascists.
Violence against fascists is actually required. We fought two whole World Wars about this
— Troy Warr (@TroyWarr) November 7, 2022
Proving our point.
It's good and should be done more often. People like Ted Cru should be afraid to leave their homes
— JuiceLord (@RvrLrd) November 7, 2022
Very fine people following you, Chris.
They definitely shouldn’t try a molotov next time
— Bo Diddler (@BoDiddler69) November 8, 2022
This guy wants to move straight to full-on assassination.
Biden should give whoever that is a Medal of Freedom

Something, something, ‘rising tide of violence in the GOP’.

Twitter suspension should be the least of your concerns, psycho.
Don’t throw beer or commit violence against someone you politically disagree with. We are a country of voting not violence. https://t.co/Akrlihdfwx
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) November 7, 2022
There were many people on the Left expressing this sentiment with regards to the Ted Cruz brew bomb. These are the same people who also regularly lament ‘dangerous rhetoric’ and the resulting consequences. Would that look like this, Congressman Swalwell?
Kevin McCarthy leads a fascist cause.
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) September 2, 2022
Lucky it’s only beer cans being thrown at this fascist domestic enemy. https://t.co/ncYJ2AfbI5

It looks to us like some people are listening to the lies coming from the Democrat politicians.
I would never advocate for political violence, because that’s not what we should expect in a civilized society. That said, if anyone deserves to have a beer can chucked at their head, it’s the lying skunk @TedCruz. pic.twitter.com/y0RL3TnTua

You know, just saying you don’t advocate for political violence doesn’t nullify advocating for political violence in your next sentence, random Dem politician guy.

This Jezebel writer really enjoys people throwing stuff at a senator with his young daughter a step away.
Yeah, don’t do this!

We hope these people get trounced in the midterms. We also hope these colossally hypocritical Twitter keyboard warriors are just that.
