LOL: Oliver Darcy scolded by CNN's Chris Licht for being 'too emotional' over Trump town hall

The CNN implosion in the wake of their ratings-booming Trump town hall has continued, this time catching CNN senior media reporter, Oliver Darcy, in the fray.

It seems Licht is somewhat committed to recasting the news outlet as an unbiased news source, while its remaining viewers seem intent on the exact opposite.

For the rest of us? Well, this is just laugh-out-loud hilarious.

You see, Oliver Darcy was tapped by CNN, after they … rooted out … Brian Stelter, to host Reliable Sources, which focuses on covering politics and the media reporting of politics.

It seems Licht isn’t too keen on Darcy trashing their own company as part of that reporting. Who can blame him? It’s sort of his job.

Yes, the blue wave emoji crowd is big mad at CNN for going through with the Trump event, but upper management at any company isn’t going to take kindly to its employees publicly slamming their brand.

Darcy didn’t just call out Trump for saying the same things he’s been saying for two years (oh, the horror). He called out CNN – and that’s where he got himself into trouble.

‘While Collins is largely receiving praise for her relentless fact-checking of the former president, she was facing an impossible task. CNN and new network boss Chris Licht are facing a fury of criticism — both internally and externally over the event.

How Licht and other CNN executives address the criticism in the coming days and weeks will be crucial. Will they defend what transpired at Saint Anselm College? Or will they express some regret?’

Seething CNN stalwarts are telling the ‘news’ outlet what they really want: a Democrat cheer squad, waving progressive pom-poms.

You know … they want CNN to be what they’ve always accused Fox News of being for Republicans.

Chris Licht is either actively supporting fascism, or he's passively supporting fascism. In the grand scheme of things, this is a distinction without a difference.

Here’s the deal, if these left wingers weren’t ‘too emotional’ to see it: We want political speech in America precisely so people can hear for themselves and pass judgement, free of media manipulation (recall the Leni Riefenstahl comparison above).

If these Democrat lap dogs would get out of their feelings long enough to think, they’d realize what even many conservatives will admit: Trump is often his own worst enemy.

Trump speaking is a double-edged sword on the right. He says a lot of things that are very popular from a policy perspective. He also manages to step on a few rakes along the way, creating problems for himself.

Just let him speak and let the people decide. The real problem is they don’t trust YOU to work all of that out for yourselves. Such courageous defenders of democracy.

That’s the problem, as many see it. CNN asks for trust as an impartial third party, but many on the Left don’t want that.

Their excuse: ‘Democracy is literally under attack by the Nazi Orange Man! This is no time for normal journalistic integrity!’

If that is what was actually happening (it’s not), it would be the perfect time to have retained some semblance of integrity in news reporting.

Instead, they want CNN to be an extension of the Biden campaign, and they expect the news outlet to adopt every nutty accusation levied against the GOP.

They’re still furious at Anderson Cooper for suggesting it might be good to listen to the other side. To be clear, Cooper was hardly saying ‘listen to the other side and have an open mind’. He was saying ‘you need to hear what the enemy is saying’. Still, they’re mad. LOL.
