Just for fun: Watch this old Norm Macdonald clip for a good laugh from the past

Sometimes we all just need a laugh, right? This old clip of Norm Macdonald with Conan O’Brien came across our Twitter feed and had us laughing … and feeling a bit nostalgic.

In the 1997 segment, Macdonald appears with guest Courtney Thorne-Smith of Melrose Place fame, who was currently working with Carrot Top in box-office bomb Chairman of the Board.

Norm Macdonald pulled no punches, as was his style. Check out the video and have yourselves a laugh … so we just had to share with our Twitchy friends.

Late night talk shows, and their hosts, used to be a lot more funny, believe it or not. The expectation that everyone air their left wing-approved politics ‘for the good of the nation’ to their captive audiences has ruined everything.

It was a different time, to be sure. People didn’t take themselves so seriously and weren’t constantly looking for reasons to be offended.

We could use more of that today.

Conan was daring Norm Macdonald to wade in deeper, and he did not disappoint. LOL.

He did. Macdonald earned the respect and friendship of his peers, and he did it without hiding behind a veneer of political correctness.

Here’s another great example of Norm Macdonald making fun of the obvious without creating offense.

Too funny!

LOLOLOL!

Norm was right!

This clip was tweeted in response to a call for best celebrity interactions. As a bonus, here’s a hilarious clip of Tom Cruise on Letterman before Dave killed his show with politics.

Good times!

That’s what we’re saying! There’s a higher level of humor available to us, folks. Our culture is just too self-centered to embrace it.

It really was great. Norm Macdonald is savaging the movie she’s there to pitch to America, and she’s LOVING it. LOL.

Same, bro.

He really was. Let’s not fall into the trap of believing we can’t have this again if we can just get over ourselves and go for it.
