Michelle Obama is making the rounds to sell her new book and revealed that she kept her hair straight as First Lady because Americans ‘weren’t ready’ for her natural hair.
One does not have to be an English doctor like Jill Biden to parse the meaning of Mrs. Obama’s statement.
We think Michelle may have entered the White House harboring a bit of prejudice of her own about the American people.

That’s right, the country was ready to elect a black man as President of the United States but somehow wasn’t ready for black women having different hairstyles. Makes perfect sense.
Only a narcissist would think Americans were thinking about her hair!

There was plenty to criticize the Obamas for. Their skin color or hair style weren’t among them, even though the media insisted that was the only reason anyone ever lodged a complaint against them.
We weren’t ready or you weren’t ready? I think we all know the answer to that one.

Hitting the nail right on its naturally beautiful head. The problem wasn’t that people would have had a problem with Michelle’s hair. The problem was that Michelle thought people would have a problem with her hair.

We’re not denying there are some people who would have made racist remarks. We saw it. You saw it. Those people suck. You know what you do when a handful of racists might comment on your hairstyle? Wear your hair however you darn well please. What you shouldn’t do is assume the vast majority of Americans will respond that way.

What if the former First Lady just did things the way she wanted to and this is a bit of revisionist history? She likes to wear her hair straight. So what? Obama loved her bangs. She wants to braid it now. More power to you, Mrs. Obama. Leave us out of it.
Oh please, she was treated like royalty!

Imagine if Michelle Obama had received the Melania Trump treatment.
I mean. We had just elected a man named Barack Hussein Obama. Seems like we were ready. https://t.co/HoeGsIHc4b

LOL, right?
It is pure racism, and its truest form, to think that white people care about other people’s hair.
It’s also pathologically delusional and disingenuous to say America was not ready for a black woman’s hair *after having elected a black man as president*. https://t.co/b9eSpzmxXb

What if, and we’re just spit balling here, Michelle Obama wore her hair exactly like she wanted to because she liked it, and now she’s trying to stave off criticism from people who thought she should have worn it naturally? We know … crazy talk.
Not to be a stickler Meeseeks, but…braids aren't "natural."

HAHA! There’s always a pot stirrer.
Absolutely. Americans were "racist" against @MichelleObama's hair but not racist enough to elect Noble Empty Suit @BarackObama twice. The bigotry of Americans really revolves around hair. https://t.co/EVz9paP3hO

The whole thing is absurd. Are we really supposed to believe that Americans were going to wig out over the hair of one of the occupants of the White House?
Never mind.
