Man claims to have eaten $28 of Taco Bell for lunch and the responses are hilarious

Fox Business contributor, Scott Martin, claimed to have eaten $28 of Taco Bell for his lunch, allowing Twitter to do what it does best: make jokes.

Host Neil Cavuto seemed perplexed that Martin could have spent $28 for just himself. Others expressed similar doubts.

Martin later tweeted the alleged contents of his order. Not quite the $28 amount he quoted, but $25.40 is respectable – or horrific, depending on how you look at it.

The ‘nice meal’ actually looks doable, and also looks like Scott was about to experience the worst gastrointestinal event of his life.

For the record, inflation IS hitting hard everywhere, including your favorite fast food joints.

We found a menu from April, 2020 from a Menifee, California Taco Bell and compared the prices of the most basic item of Taco Bell cuisine – the Crunchy Taco – to today’s prices.

Taco Bell menu items from 2020 compared to 2022

A Crunchy Taco in April, 2020 set you back $1.39. The same taco costs you $1.79 at the same store today. That’s a whopping %28 price increase, which is about double the national inflation rate increase over the time period from 2020 to 2022.

So, yeah, inflation is bad. We’re all feeling it.

If Scott Martin ate $28 of Taco Bell, he’s DEFINITELY feeling some manner of inflation.

As you might have guessed, the response by Twitter was hilarious.

(Yes, there are a lot of lefties expressing outrage because it’s Fox. We’re only going to show you the people with a sense of humor.)

LOL!

Ha!

‘Excuse me, King. You dropped your crown.’

Bwahahahaha!

Taco Bell wasn’t going to miss out on the free advertising.

Dude! If you’re on Twitter, you’re tweeting from the toilet. Everyone knows.

It can’t be good, right? LOL.

Solid plan.

You would definitely FEEL like you needed to go to the hospital.

Taco Bell is one of those ‘We shouldn’t do this but we’re going to anyway because sometimes we like to pretend we’re still in high school’ kind of meals, so yeah, ‘nice lunch’ is probably a bit of stretch.

Never say never. Also, LOL.

15 cups of water. Ha!

LOLOLOL!

This is the correct response.

LOL.

We’re gonna take the 5th on this one.

We can only hope!

Same, girl. Same.
