Worldwide shock as former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, assassinated

News spread quickly as reports came in that former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, was shot during a political speech.

The shooting actually took place in Nara, Japan and a suspect was immediately taken into custody and identified by the media.

Shinzo Abe has unfortunately since passed.

As news developed, many remarked upon the rarity of gun violence in Japan, where strict gun control is in place.
