Democrats, with some help from media outlets like CNN, are insisting that the Dan Sullivan who was found and put on the Alaska Senate ballot with Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan is a real candidate and this wasn't an attempt to trick voters in the hopes of giving the Dems an advantage.
Some of the same people making that claim also said stories about Hunter Biden's laptop were part of a Russian disinformation campaign and that people who said COVID came from a Chinese lab were lying.
It's painfully obvious how this all came about.
In a sane political environment, Peltola would have already dropped out already. Her former campaign manager and long-term aide admitted they intentionally planned to deceive voters by recruiting fake candidates to run and Peltola was aware of the scheme.

For a moment let's assume that the "Decoy Dan" Sullivan is an actual real candidate. Would he just up and disappear mere days before the election? Because right now the guy is reportedly nowhere to be found.
EXCLUSIVE: Daniel J. Sullivan left his Alaska hometown days before reports about his ties to Peltola's campaign, sources say. https://t.co/DXR1zVjPb3

However, there are clues about where he might be, which is basically "anywhere in the world."
"The source added she did not know where Sullivan was headed, but another friend said he and his wife are known among friends as 'world travelers.'"

Well that certainly narrows down the search grid!
The media's trying to help frame the story this way in order to help Dems make it about the GOP.
Republicans argue voters intending to vote for Dan S Sullivan might confuse him with Dan J Sullivan and accidentally select his name on the ballot. Some Alaskans have dismissed the notion, arguing they are smarter than the Grand Old Party (GOP) gives them credit for.
What some of them should be asking themselves is why the Democrat Party seems to be hoping they're stupid.
