Back in March, when the Democrats hadn't yet experienced the full backfire of their redistricting efforts and Hakeem Jeffries was still promising "maximum warfare," Dorothy McAuliffe announced a run for a district the new map would have created. The Dems were hoping for a 10-1 state map that would nearly wipe out Republican representation in the state, and McAuliffe was going to help do it.
Dorothy McAuliffe, a former Virginia first lady and State Department official, announced Wednesday that she is running for Congress in Virginia’s anticipated 7th congressional District, joining a growing field of Democratic candidates in a race that could take shape if voters approve a new congressional map next month.
McAuliffe, 62, launched her campaign with a message centered on lowering costs for families and expanding access to health care, while also pledging to advocate for children and military families. Her candidacy adds another prominent name to what is expected to be a competitive Democratic primary.
“Virginians are working harder than ever, but the middle class is still out of reach for too many,” McAuliffe said in her campaign announcement. “We need a leader who has a record of delivering and can finally bring down costs for families, who will increase access to affordable healthcare, and who will never back down from holding Donald Trump and ICE accountable.”
Fast forward to this month, and it became abundantly clear that the Democrat redistricting referendum failed to take one thing into account: The state's Constitution.
This week the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the Democrats' appeal of the state Supreme Court's ruling, with no dissents.

And the hits just keep on coming for the Democrats.
Here's how McAuliffe responded. Did she blame the Democrats for trying to skirt the law to ram through their redistricting dream? Of course not. It's the fault of Trump and all those darn "conservative courts" insisting that her party follow the law:

"Donald Trump and his allies forced this outcome through compliant conservative courts."
The Supreme Court unanimously declined to hear the Va. Dems' appeal. Since when are Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan "conservative"?
She shouldn't have gotten behind an illegal scheme

That's what it boils down to, and the Virginia Supreme Court didn't issue their decision until after the state voted on the referendum because that's what the Democrats asked them to do.
I also enjoy how many times she mentioned the word Donald Trump. Donald Trump has nothing to do with this but the democratic party needs to scapegoat to cover for their absolute stupidity and arguably downright illegal behavior.

TDS is all the Democrats have. They've got no rational ideas or constructive input, it's all "Trump Trump Trump"! The Democrats break the law and then blame Trump. We've seen how this works repeatedly over the last several years.
Farewell, "congresswoman" McAuliffe -- we hardly knew ye.
