Leftists, Democrats and assorted ne'er-do-well agitators (often all are one in the same) have been having fits ever since Donald Trump took office and started enforcing immigration laws.
The ramped up efforts on the part of ICE has caused the Dems to basically encourage people to get combative with, and even try to kill, federal law enforcement. That has of course led to officers being forced to defend themselves. Here's one of the latest examples, via @DHSgov:
At 2:19 PST, US Border Patrol agents were conducting a targeted vehicle stop in Portland, Oregon. The passenger of the vehicle and target is a Venezuelan illegal alien affiliated with the transnational Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and involved in a recent shooting in Portland. The vehicle driver is believed to be a member of the vicious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. When agents identified themselves to the vehicle occupants, the driver weaponized his vehicle and attempted to run over the law enforcement agents.
Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired a defensive shot. The driver drove off with the passenger, fleeing the scene.
This situation is evolving and more information is forthcoming.
One of the higher profile examples so far this month was about the "Minneapolis mom," as Dems and lib media are calling her, who was shot. They are of course leaving out a lot of the story:

Do the Dems really want to know why this is happening?
Well, it pretty much started here:
Biden subsequently ended up in the White House which was being run under President Autopen, and a full-blown invasion of the United States followed. Not only that, but it was encouraged by Alejandro Mayorkas who waved in millions like a store greeter and bragged about undoing the measures that made the border secure:

Those included halting border wall construction, ending Remain-in-Mexico and imposing a moratorium on all deportations for 100 days. He later created asylum programs for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV) - and created a CBP One app for the rest of the world to cross illegally, claim asylum and released into the country. Consider this: prior to 2022, there isn’t a single record of a Tren de Aragua gang member being apprehended at the Southern border - today they have a foothold in at least 19 states… Now the Trump administration is attempting to clean up the mess…
Trump's margin of victory, including winning every swing state and the "popular vote" that the Dems used to like to talk about, proved that Americans have had enough. The Left can make all the noise they want but the mess Biden, Harris and Mayorkas made has to be cleaned up.
