When Joe Biden was still seeking a second term in office, many Dems serving in his Cabinet spoke about the need to protect "democracy" and national security by defeating Donald Trump in the November election.
Now we know just how much those Cabinet members cared about preserving "democracy" and guarding national security because they were just fine with a president who didn't know what day it was. Some of those Cabinet members care so deeply about making sure something like this never happens again that they've apparently demanded (and been granted) anonymity in the much talked about book from CNN's Jake "don't mock Biden's lifelong stutter" Tapper and Axios' Alex Thompson:

Basically Biden's condition sounds like a textbook reason to invoke the 25th Amendment, but that didn't happen.
Instead it's still amazing that the White House, presumably with Dr. Jill's approval, thought this challenge from Biden one year ago today was a good idea:

It was Dukakis in a tank times ten, and it's quite possible somebody behind the scenes wanted it to happen. In any case, it all imploded on the Democrats which was a win for Team America.
