Democrats have filed a lawsuit in an attempt to halt an executive order from President Trump that would deny federal funding to states that do not require proof of citizenship in order to vote, among other things.
The Dems of course say it's already illegal to vote so that isn't necessary, and besides, it never happens anyway.
The Merriam-Webster definition of the word "never" is: 1) not ever : at no time, and 2) not in any degree : not under any condition.
When it comes to illegal voting, Michigan Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson has proven that the Democrat definition of the word "never" is: 1) occasionally, and 2) ok maybe a little more than just once in a while.
In September of last year, Benson said this at a hearing:
"There is no evidence that non-citizens are voting," Benson said at the U.S. House hearing. "If they were, it would be easy to prove since voting records are public."
As usual, that claim from a Democrat has aged miserably.
Fast forward just a few months:
Michigan audit finds 15 probable non-U.S. citizens voted in 2024 election https://t.co/OrZu4sIf4Y

That thing that never happens happened again!
Michigan Secretary of State and Candidate for Governor told us “there is no evidence of non citizens voting in our elections.”

Today, she told the local media at least 15 noncitizens voted in November. pic.twitter.com/iwaHRwB4vy
"Every vote counts," as they say.
Just in case you missed it, the state of Michigan confirmed at least 15 noncitizens voted in the 2024 election.

The Secretary of State that oversees elections is now running for governor.
Maybe she should sit this one out.
The Dems and media can be counted on to push the "meh, it wasn't anywhere enough to change the outcome so don't worry about it" angle.
Saying “only 15 noncitizens voted in Michigan elections” is the same dismissive response as “there are only two transgenders (men) playing girls sports in Michigan.” The number we’re looking for is zero.

The Democrats opposing voter ID and proof of citizenship to vote help demonstrate their lack of interest in making the number zero.
“How did 15 non-citizens vote in Michigan?”

MI Secretary of State: “they had papers”.

That pretty much sums it up.
