The bad news is that for the last four years the U.S. has been under an invasion.
The even worse news is that the invasion has been allowed by the current administration. Before becoming president, Joe Biden even told people to "surge to the border" and enter the U.S. illegally, all while basically promising them he'd do nothing about it while making sure they were taken care of courtesy of taxpaying citizens:
And we all know what happened next. Millions and millions of people pouring across Biden and Mayorkas' open border later, we're seeing the tragic consequences of what's been allowed in the form of the trial of the illegal alien who's been charged with the murder of Laken Riley. There are countless other examples of the human toll caused by a border that's been open for years.
When Donald Trump takes office, there have been reports that he'll utilize the U.S. military to seal the border back up and help with deportations (after all, an invasion of the country justifies the use of the military).
The Left will of course have another freakout this week, because Trump confirmed that on Truth Social this morning:

The damage caused by Biden's open border will be felt for a long time (forever for the families of victims of criminal illegals) but this will be a good start in reversing things.

The Trump DHS will probably start with the more than one million people in the country illegally who have already been ordered to leave. It'll be great to have somebody back in the White House who actually cares about a secure border. Team Biden and Harris can't leave fast enough.
