Politico's Spin on Joe Rogan's Interview with JD Vance Sums Up Media's Long Slide Into Irrelevance

Meme

This post is going to focus on Politico's take about JD Vance's interview with Joe Rogan, but as I started working on it a different story caught my attention.

Yesterday Donald Trump basically said that Liz Cheney should volunteer to go fight in some of the wars she supports and see what it's like to have the guns pointed at her instead of the son or daughter of somebody she doesn't even know. As you might have guessed, the media has turned that into "Trump called for Liz Cheney to be killed" or something similar.

This is what Politico did with it:

No, hacks, Trump simply suggested that Cheney go fight in the wars she supports because it might help her decide if it's really worth doing.

In any case, Politico's shameless, and we all know that. But they're certainly not alone. However, those kinds of outlets are in a collective panic because podcasts, certain social media outlets and more are making the "traditional lib media" (for lack of a better term) obsolete. Even Jeff Bezos recognizes that as evidenced by the Washington Post's recent decision to not endorse a presidential candidate.

As a result of all this I've been seeing an increasing amount of "here's what happened and what you need to know about it" reports from a media that now exists to push a certain narrative instead of the facts. Politico has a glaring example of that with their story about JD Vance's interview on Joe Rogan's podcast:

What Politico wanted to say is "we don't want you to watch Vance's interview with Rogan so here's what we want you to think about it."

The good news is that approaches like that make it obvious Politico (and many others that do the same thing) know their slide into irrelevance is accelerating.

They're losing control of the narrative and they know it, which is the true source of the Left's hatred for people like Elon Musk.

This is some great closing advice:

It's truly frightening knowing there are many people who get all their information from Politico headlines and network evening newscasts. But thankfully for the truth those places might soon be extinct -- or at the very least completely irrelevant -- and they seem to know it.
