Yesterday President Biden did something that doesn't happen very often and took a few questions from reporters on his way out to Marine One.
Two topics of discussion were the attacks on U.S. servicemembers in Jordan that killed three and wounded dozens more. Does this pump you full of confidence that the country and our troops overseas are in the best of hands?
Q Have you made a decision how you’ll respond to the attacks?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes.
Q And —
Q Mr. President, do you hold Iran responsible for the death of those three Americans?
THE PRESIDENT: I do hold respon- — them responsible in the sense that they’re supplying the weapons to the people who did it.
Q But directly responsible?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, we’ll have that discussion.
Q (Inaudible) have not deterred these attacks in the past. What will be different this time?
THE PRESIDENT: We’ll see.
Hey, the "just don't" and "we'll see" doctrines have worked out just great so far, and the White House doesn't appear to be ready to abandon that "strategy." Biden and his State Department leaders have become the "this calls for immediate discussion" meme from Monty Python and the Life of Brian.
But it was Biden's response to another line of question that was both maddening and telling, all while making me say to myself "Just imagine the Dem and media freakout if Trump said this."
The Biden White House is trying to blame their intentionally created border mess on Republicans by attempting to fool everybody into believing the GOP won't send Biden a "border security bill." In reality, all the president has to do is reverse all the actions he took on day one that caused this problem in the first place. But here's what Biden said needs to happen instead:
Recommended
Q Mr. President, on the border. Have you done everything you can do with executive authority? Or is there more you could do absent (inaudible)?
THE PRESIDENT: I’ve done all I can do. Just give me the power. I’ve asked from the very day I got into office. Give me the Border Patrol. Give me the people — give me the people, the judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right.
All I know is that the "people who can stop this" are not going to be the people who caused this.
"Give me the judges" -- but it's Trump who is the "threat to democracy" and constitutional order. Also, why does Biden think he needs the judges? They rule against this administration on some things and they just go ahead and do them anyway, and nobody stops them.
The United States cannot handle four more years of this insanity. Biden's already caused enough irreversible damage as it is.
