I'll kick things off with a "how it started/how it's going" shot and chaser.
The "how it started" part is from Inauguration Day in January of 2021:
With unity, we can do great things. pic.twitter.com/BMCgyZkdH1
— President Biden (@POTUS) January 22, 2021
The "how it's going" just three short years (actually it's felt like ten years) later is anything but "unity," but considering this administration has NOTHING to brag about (the border's open, the economy has been hobbled, etc.) then division and demonization is all they have left:
NEW: Inside President Biden’s meeting with prominent historians who urged him to call out threats to the nation’s democracy

Those warnings will help fuel Biden’s speech at Valley Forge tomorrow https://t.co/znLpDjhAlm
Did these "historians" tell Biden that having a speech at Valley Forge condemning a rebellion isn't making the point he thinks it is? In any case, Biden's going to give another speech claiming that the political opponent his Justice Department (and others) are trying to remove from the ballot in some states and even throw in jail is a "threat to democracy." That's irony so thick you could choke on it.
Biden's going to talk about "threats to Democracy," and you know what that means. Brace for more of this:

But there was an additional layer of irony.
Biden's speech was scheduled for the third anniversary of January 6th (has that yet been declared a formal national holiday for Democrats?) on Saturday but had to be moved up a day to the day before the "insurrection" anniversary. Here's why:
Irony Alert: Joe Biden moving his 'save democracy' Jan 6th speech at Valley Forge to the 5th because of...snow. pic.twitter.com/iOm3apQoFo

George Washington's reaction to this: HAHAHAHA!
The president was set to travel to the Philadelphia area on Saturday to mark the third anniversary of the riots at the U.S. Capitol. On Wednesday evening, the White House announced that Biden’s trip was moved from Saturday to Friday.
“Due to impending inclement weather in the Philadelphia area this weekend, the President’s campaign speech near Valley Forge on Saturday, January 6 will be moved to Friday, January 5,” Biden’s campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Maybe the White House should just change the focus of Biden's speech to global warming. Wait, nope, that won't work either. So "threat to democracy" it is.
Has there been a word that's been more misused, abused and distorted in the last few years than "democracy"?
