It almost never fails: Whenever there's a large event organized by eco-minded people and attended by many who consider themselves environmentalists concerned with living "green," a massive mess is left behind.
One high-profile example would be the Obamapocalypse after Obama's first inauguration in January 2009. The fellow travelers of the president who would be addressing climate change and slowing the rise of the oceans (he must have succeeded because he later dropped over $10 million on a Martha's Vineyard beach house) left the DC Mall trashed... literally:

You've got to love the irony of tens of thousands of people cheering their eco-friendly president and then leaving that mess behind.
I was reminded of the first Obama inaugural when I saw a story about the Reading Festival in England, which is another event with organizers focused on keeping it "green":

How many people who attended that festival are on board with Greta Thunberg?
Guarantee that 99% of these were left behind by idiots that follow those @JustStop_Oil muppets, or follow the "teachings" of Greta Thunberg, or spout off about only eating tofurky sandwiches... https://t.co/JaXN5clLDi

What's the best all 100,000 would claim to be environmentalists and pro-Extinction Rebellion clowns? https://t.co/nRz4RWOONq
