WaPo cites 'new study' about Covid risks that shows how insane initial gov't edicts were

Everybody remembers some of the crazy government edicts that came down after the pandemic started in early 2020. Among the lunacy was that beaches were closed, gyms were forced to shut down, parks were locked and off limits, and so much more. Remember this doozy?

One more: In the summer of 2020 a New Jersey gym owner was jailed for refusing to keep his business closed.

Anybody who would be honest about it at the time knew that kind of thing was incredibly stupid and there was zero basis in “science.”

Fast forward over a couple of years and now many of “the experts” are being forced to admit that reality is exposing the counterproductive nature of their original edicts:

Exercise and keeping fit helped reduce Covid risks? NO WAY! Gee, it’s a good thing they closed gyms and kept the liquor stores open!

Men and women who worked out at least 30 minutes most days were about four times more likely to survive covid-19 than inactive people, according to an eye-opening study of exercise and coronavirus outcomes among almost 200,000 adults in Southern California.

The study found that exercise, in almost any amount, reduced people’s risks for a severe coronavirus infection. Even people who worked out for as little as 11 minutes a week — yes, a week — experienced lower risks of hospitalization or death from covid than those who moved about less.

“It turns out exercise is even more powerful than we thought” at protecting people from severe covid, said Robert Sallis, a clinical professor at Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Los Angeles and senior author of the new study.

Anybody who wasn’t an agenda-driven hack knew that long ago.

Even Pfizer ads now point out that exercise and keeping the pounds off are key when it comes to avoiding the worst of the flu, but obviously it’s not taboo to point that out anymore.

Remember the “beach Grim Reaper” clown? Sheesh.

It didn’t seem like “science” at the time, because it wasn’t. Will anybody ever be held accountable? Pfft… quite the opposite in many places — some of those people ended up getting re-elected. Rewarding their overreach will have long-term negative consequences.
