Sen. Romney describes president who once said Mitt would 'put y'all back in chains' as a 'genuinely good man'

You might recall during the 2012 presidential campaign when then-Vice President Joe Biden warned a mostly minority audience that the election of Mitt Romney would mean he’d “put y’all back in chains”:

Fast forward to year two of the Joe Biden presidency, and 2012 GOP nominee and now Sen. Mitt Romney has referred to that same person as a “genuinely good man.” That comes via an article in The Atlantic authored by the senator from Utah:

The same “genuinely nice man” who compared supporters of voter ID to racist segregationists and just in the last few days slammed mom & pop gas station owners and others’ greed as being the reason gas prices are so high? That doesn’t sound very “genuinely nice.”

It seems that for many the only requirement for being considered a good person is NOT being named Donald Trump.

And forget the fact that the Biden administration has been a disaster for the country and the economy, Romney’s focus seems to be trying to make sure Trump can’t run for president again:

President Joe Biden is a genuinely good man, but he has yet been unable to break through our national malady of denial, deceit, and distrust. A return of Donald Trump would feed the sickness, probably rendering it incurable. Congress is particularly disappointing: Our elected officials put a finger in the wind more frequently than they show backbone against it. Too often, Washington demonstrates the maxim that for evil to thrive only requires good men to do nothing.

Romney obviously has a short memory or just chooses to forget about things because Trump bad.

You’d think Romney would at least appreciate a Trump presidency that culminated in the end of Roe v. Wade, but we guess not.

Biden now has a deep appreciation for Mitt Romney, for obvious reasons.
