Brian Stelter says it's still too early to tell if CNN+ was a success or a failure

It’s no secret that CNN’s launch of the subscription-based CNN+ was nothing short of one of the biggest disasters in the history of media. However, it’s also clear that some people at CNN haven’t yet reached the “acceptance” level of the stages of grief.

Brian Stelter is now doing post-implosion damage control and obviously would like everybody to believe that CNN+ was anything but a complete and total disaster. What’s even funnier is that he said all this on CNN+ before the plug gets pulled:

Was CNN+ a success or a failure? It’s still too early to tell, according to CNN’s chief media correspondent:

Really? If what we saw wasn’t a failure we’d hate to see what CNN’s definition of a failure would be.

What is so ridiculous is that they’re still trying to put any sort of positive spin on this epic implosion.

“It’s still too early to say if the Titanic’s maiden voyage was a success or a failure” – White Star Line Spokesman Brian Stelter

In what world was “we don’t have a lot of viewers who watch for free so let’s start a separate service that makes people pay for content” a solid business plan?

Imagine being a CNN+ subscriber and paying to watch them talk about how CNN+ collapsed.
