It used to be that you might see promos for a network’s Evening News interview with a noted political figure during a late-night comedy/interview show, but these days, on occasion, it’s the other way around: Network news’ anchors are promoting interviews with certain politicians that are conducted by the late-night hosts:
EXCLUSIVE: President-elect Joe Biden is defending his son amid an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes
The president-elect and Dr. Jill Biden spoke with @StephenAtHome for their first joint interview since the election

In addition to some left-of-center folks criticizing CBS News’ choice of a clip to use, a “journalism” shift has been detected:
CBS News: We've decided to drop the pretense, and from now on, all our interviews will be conducted by comedians.

The national media has become a total joke over the past few years anyway, why not just hand things over to hosts of late night “comedy” shows?
When you promote your own embarrassment as you're replaced by a D list comedian for an interview. https://t.co/cVOTqQ5X6p

I'm old enough to remember when real 'journalists' would do interviews like this.
Not some hack comedian.

Joe and Jill — er, DOCTOR Jill — Biden will do great in the interview. Joe in particular is used to hitting softballs.
