SCIENCE! Pennsylvania governor's announcement about alcohol sales this week sends heads to desks

Watching Democrat state governors compete for which one can try to implement the most stringent coronavirus-related orders is as maddening as it gets. In California, Gov. Newsom’s 10 p.m. curfew backfired as many sheriffs refused to enforce it while many took to the streets to protest another arbitrary edict.

In Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Wolf’s “science” cred is again being questioned because of orders like this:

One of those measures involves a cutoff for alcohol sales on Wednesday:

Won’t this just make these places more crowded as people scramble to stock up before 5 p.m. on Wednesday?

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, restaurants and bars are ordered to suspend alcohol sales at 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26. Gov. Wolf says the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the “biggest day for drinking” and acknowledged bars and restaurants have been hit hard by the pandemic, but this one-night ban is needed.

“The thing that we can’t do is ignore reality and say ‘yeah you folks, for no fault of your own, have been hit hardest by this virus.’ But the virus is what’s doing this. It’s not me. It’s not the administration. It’s not the government,” said Gov. Wolf.

No, it’s the government doing that.

And Gov. Wolf (and others) are totally addicted.

Is logic even a thing anymore for many public officials?

Liberals often think the Law of Unintended Consequences doesn’t apply to their arbitrary decrees.

That’s abundantly clear.

“One night only”… for now.
