For the last few years there’s been a massive amount of projection coming from the Left in the form of grave concerns about President Trump possibly not respecting the results of an election. That’s from some of the same people who have refused to admit that Trump legitimately won the 2016 election, and if Joe Biden loses the upcoming election there’s a good chance many Democrats will claim Trump somehow cheated.
However, Trump’s opponents refuse to see that irony and continue to envision scenarios where Trump is the one who won’t accept the election results. In one particular hot take scenario from The Atlantic, Trump loses, refuses to concede, and then a certain former president steps in to save America:
George W. Bush, the only living former president who’s a Republican, would be in a position to stand up for American democracy if Donald Trump loses but refuses to concede. So far, the other ex-presidents have heard crickets, @IsaacDovere reports: https://t.co/uY86ugowPt

How quickly they want people to forget!
It's hilarious watching the people who have said Bush was a illegitimate President since 2000 demanding he speak up and ask Trump to concede. https://t.co/v4LsI1l3aE

2015: George W. Bush is a literal war criminal who expended American blood to get oil and enrich his friends.
2020: George W. Bush is the last and best hope for Democracy and the only thing standing between the US and ruin. https://t.co/LOUtlQmp9B
