As we told you previously, CNN has explored the possibility that the movie “Joker” could inspire copycat attacks (nudge nudge). That isn’t happening, so maybe it was time for a different angle:
When your reporting doesn’t inspire any attacks in movie theatres … Plan B:

How very predictable:
The true appeal of the new "Joker" movie lies in its invidious validation of the white-male resentment that helped bring President Trump to power, writes Jeff Yang for @CNNOpinion https://t.co/WcLJUAJ7Zb

There it is!
"How do I take a movie review and twist it into an anti-Trump screed?"
— Filthy Comfortable (@FilthyComforta2) October 6, 2019
Everything that happens can be turned into an anti-Trump screed. Just ask CNN how!
Imagine watching this movie and not getting the Antifa parallels

The rioters in the film were calling for the rich to be k-lled. What movie did you see?
— Robert (@IgG1purifier) October 7, 2019
Joker is much closer to Antifa than he is to Trumpist. The guy spawns a kill-the-rich movement https://t.co/utod7u6UIx

As if any reviewer would dare make that obvious connection.
Why a movie just be a damn movie? Why are politicos ALWAYS looking for some deeper meaning that most likely doesn't exist?

What?!?
— Marie (@Mmarie2539) October 7, 2019
my condolences to all at CNN because "Joker" didn't produce the body count they were hoping for
maybe they can get one of the clowns in their employ to pick up a big, scary gun and do their dirty work for them
otherwise, their wishcasting will be futile

You should really watch the movie before you write the review on it, you know.

When it comes to what happens during Trump’s presidency, the scripts, articles and reviews are already written.
