Frank Luntz tweeted today that he’s changed his mind on the issue of climate change and wants to make it a nonpartisan issue, which will be tough since it’s inherently a partisan “cause”:
Yes, I‘ve changed my opinion on #ClimateChange since authoring a skeptical memo 18 years ago.
Now, I want to use my powers for good and find ways to make it a nonpartisan issue. (Look how the @FloridaGOP has shifted after hearing the concerns of their coastal constituency.) pic.twitter.com/KFrKoT4qQR

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes welcomed Luntz aboard the SS Climate Crusade before promptly keelhauling him:
I'm really glad you've changed, but I think it's worth acknowleding that you did concrete and tangible harm to lots of people.

Let that be a lesson to those who change their minds and decide to join the Left in a cause…
This is not how you invite Republicans to join you in a cause.

Remember no matter what you do they hate you and think you are evil. https://t.co/iVuaiNy7uq

Man revises political views, takes up cause of preventing climate change, the Left calls it insufficient, insists that he submit and abase himself before them. https://t.co/KpdX2qjMN0

With that kind of persuasion, Hayes might convince a grand total of zero other people to have a change of heart and join their cause.
My goodness you're an awful person

That’s not how opinions work, Chris

Two homes.
You have done more actual physical harm than most if you believe what you're selling. https://t.co/Phb4fbjkE2

But Hayes says Luntz can take the heat (pun mostly intended):
When conservatives agree to cooperate with you on this issue you attack them & demand self-flagellation? GREAT strategy, where do I sign up

It’s a single, gentle tweet. Frank has spent decades in public life and seen much worse, believe me.

And we’re sure Luntz will hear far worse from some of his new friends in climate change activism.
