It’s looking like recounts will be happening in the Florida gubernatorial and Senate races. There’s also been a lot of evidence of incompetence, shenanigans or some combination of both in south Florida, and President Trump tweeted his opinion on that earlier today:
Trying to STEAL two big elections in Florida! We are watching closely!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 10, 2018
New York Times deputy Washington editor Jonathan Weisman doesn’t think that kind of rhetoric is appropriate, especially since the GOP will control the Senate either way:
People, the difference between a 52-48 Senate and a 53-47 Senate is really and truly not worth undermining confidence in our democracy. Or maybe that’s just me. https://t.co/8OQWG3Jr0T

The stakes in Bush v Gore were the presidency and the entire executive branch. In retrospect, the outcome quite literally changed the world. If anything the fight wasn’t hard enough.

In this case, the votes should be counted without disruption. Court cases should be heard and decided without drama. And everyone mobilizing for war should remember that the outcome will not change the balance of power in government.

And with that, the ratioing began.
This is bananas. What undermines confidence in our democracy is failing to follow election law and not counting votes properly. Let's fix this mess NOW so people feel comfortable voting in the future. https://t.co/pUKRP9k4V7

Allowing elections to be stolen is how you strengthen confidence in our democracy.

One thing’s for sure, the ever vigilant mainstream media doesn’t seem nearly as curious about what’s gone on as they should be.
The Press is totally okay with blatant lawbreaking during an election, because "what's one Senator really mean anyway." https://t.co/Ossf9NmtZU
