THERE it is! HuffPost gives Dems advance spin in event of midterm election disaster (just GUESS)

If the Democrats’ much-anticipated “blue wave” fails to fully materialize next month, the Huffington Post is helping fill in the list of potential excuses. Russia? Maybe eventually, but not in this example:

Ah, gerrymandering. Because the Dems’ actual proposals and behavior couldn’t possibly have anything to do with any potential midterm letdowns:

That seems to be how things are being lined up:

The Dems certainly didn’t seem to mind gerrymandering when it aided their own party, including Barack Obama. This is from a New Yorker article in 2012:

In 1996, during his first run for office, in the Illinois State Senate, Obama defeated his former political mentor Alice Palmer by successfully challenging her nominating petitions and forcing her off the ballot, effectively ending her career. A few years later, Illinois Democrats, after toiling in the minority in the Senate, gerrymandered the state to produce a Democratic majority. While drafting the new political map, Obama helped redraw his own district northward to include some of Chicago’s wealthiest citizens, making the district a powerful financial and political base that he used to win his U.S. Senate seat, a few years later.

Gerrymandering: GREAT if it helps the Dems, AWFUL if they don’t benefit for whatever reason.
