Some in the anti-Trump Resistance are slowly coming to grips with the reality that, more likely than not, Brett Kavanaugh will be the country’s next Supreme Court justice. But that doesn’t mean reasons for keeping hope alive can’t be found in any situation. In this case, that hope is found in the form of a word that begins with the letter “I”:
Good news for Kavanaugh: His confirmation hearing is over
Bad news for Kavanaugh: Whether he's confirmed or not, he could ultimately find himself impeached pic.twitter.com/Sy5nD09YqS— Maddow Blog (@MaddowBlog) September 8, 2018
The Resistance’s ability to move the goalposts in order to keep any semblance of hope alive is unmatched.

The word “hope” was used quite a lot.
#RachelMaddow has already moved on to impeaching Kavanaugh.
Way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat @maddow. Impressive.Hilarious and sad. But impressive, nevertheless. https://t.co/80fx3TB2bX

Narrator: there is 0.0% chance he is impeached.
In fact, there is FAR less chance he is impeached than Trump is impeached. https://t.co/keMteKm3IX
