'Propaganda much?' NY Times SHREDDED for spin on Iran regime's protest crackdown

This headline is certainly ONE way to frame what’s going on in Iran:

Iranian authorities have clamped down on Tehran after demonstrators across the country ignored calls for calm https://t.co/M9G7x8lvAT

— The New York Times (@nytimes) January 1, 2018

Wow, that’s a more dizzying spin that the Times’ take on tax cuts. However, the Times was presented with some more accurate options:

Translation: Iranian mullahs using force to silence dissent after warning people to shut up. https://t.co/2aZWnjffqE

— Ed Morrissey (@EdMorrissey) January 1, 2018

Let me rewrite this headline: "Iran's brutal dictatorship yet again killed & arrested brave Iranian citizens demanding greater freedoms." https://t.co/iq2n5ykA5f

— Michael McFaul (@McFaul) January 1, 2018

It also depends on what your definition of “clamped down” is…

12 dead. That's quite a "clamping"

— Sandy 〽️ (@RightGlockMom) January 1, 2018

Sure is.

Murdering journalism one Tweet at a time.

Every protest against Trump is a clarion call for freedom – regardless of property damage, arrests, etc …

But these freedom fighters in Iran at "ignoring calls for calm."

It seems the NYT has chosen a side to back. https://t.co/1TCFWWfPVv

This headline: seriously, @nytimes?! https://t.co/mDFEEJJjUA

The Ayatollah loves the way you’re framing this story

Propaganda much?

— Dr. Allen R. Sondej (@Dangerclose07) January 1, 2018

This headline is indefensible. A crappy start to 2018, @nytimes. Do better or continue your slide into irrelevance

W H A T?

“After demonstrators across the country ignored calls for calm”?????

Is Ali Khamenei writing the headlines for the New York Times? https://t.co/Qnzge8u9U3
