Over the summer, the New York Times management warned its newsroom that “someone claiming to be a college student is trying to interview NYT journalists.” That “someone” was James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, which secretly recorded a NY Times “content editor” claiming to be an Antifa member, godson of James Comey, and to have worked for the Clinton and Obama campaigns.
The executive editor of the New York Times responded to Project Veritas with strong words:
Interesting – this is Dean Baquet talking last night about Project Veritas (https://t.co/xpN0CmZd8I) entrapping an audience strategy editor: pic.twitter.com/mJ6ehShfMg

Project Veritas fired back with a question:
So why is undercover video journalism a "mortal sin" when managed by @JamesOKeefeIII but not when it's Soros funded? https://t.co/Wion2G7YDo

Ouch!
Reaction is mixed with some in the media predictably falling on the side of the Times, but some others, not so much:
This reflects more on Baquet than it does on O'Keefe. https://t.co/KGutBEZCU1

Very eloquent response from Dean and why I am always skeptical of covering Veritas hit jobs. https://t.co/MA2Fqho9mm
