The Democrat convention is officially under way in Philadelphia as Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, chosen to fill in for Debbie Wasserman Schultz, got things started:

Outside the hall are thousands of demonstrators, and inside the hall there’s plenty of protest as well, so maybe Rawlings-Blake was the right person to kick off this year’s Dem convention:
