In November at the University of California, Merced, four people were wounded after 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad attacked them with a knife before being shot and killed by a campus police officer. According to a manifesto found on the attacker, he planned to harm more people, but at the time Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke and university chancellor Dorothy Leland told reporters that the attack was personally motivated and not connected to terrorism.

The FBI has concluded that ISIS inspired the attacker:
In November, 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad attacked one student in a classroom before attacking three others, authorities said. A campus police officer shot and killed Mohammad.
Federal investigators scoured Mohammad’s digital history and found that he appeared to have taken inspiration from terrorist sites and propaganda, the FBI said in a statement.
President Obama recently elevated the ISIS threat level from “JV Team” to “Joker from ‘The Dark Knight.'” Yesterday, Secretary of State John Kerry said that in his judgment, ISIS is a genocidal terrorist group.
