President Obama has recently reiterated that the U.S. would not be sending more ground troops to Iraq. Now that the “JV team” (otherwise known as ISIS) continues to spread out in that country and commit unspeakable atrocities, Obama has decided otherwise:
WH: President Obama has approved the deployment of 450 additional U.S. troops to Anbar, Iraq for training Iraqi Security Forces.

JUST IN: Pres Obama authorizes deployment of up to 450 addtl US military personnel to train, advise, and assist Iraqi Security Forces.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 10, 2015
WH statement says the addtl forces are "in furtherance" of Pres Obama's "comprehensive strategy to degrade and destroy" ISIL.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 10, 2015
@POTUS authorized addtl forces based on request from Iraqi PM Al-Abadi and on recommendation of SecDef Carter & Joint Chiefs Chmn.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 10, 2015
WH says addtl US advisors to help Iraqi forces, including local tribal fighters, to conduct operations against ISIL in eastern Anbar.
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 10, 2015
WH stresses that additional US troops "will not serve in a combat role and will augment the 3,100 US troops already deployed to Iraq."
