Environmentally-friendly Joe Biden recycles 'compliment' for retiring Sen. Barbara Mikulski

Senator Barbara Mikulski will be leaving Congress, and the DNC had a request in honor of the announcement:

Thank @SenatorBarb! She announced that she’ll leave Congress after decades in office: http://t.co/LP7KHrZssT pic.twitter.com/i0z6zZMzJN

We do thank her for leaving Congress! So there’s that bit of bipartisanship.

Vice President Joe Biden had this compliment for Mikulski … sort of:

@VP Biden on @SenatorBarb: "two years of Barbara Mikulski is like six years of any other senator."

Joe Biden: I'm sad Mikulski is going, but she's still got 2 yrs left. "And 2 yrs of Barbara Mikulski is like 6 yrs of any other senator."

Biden: "there are still two years left. And two years of Barbara Mikulski is like six years of any other senator."

Biden’s writers must have been pressed for time, because the the VP used the same line after Barbara Boxer announced she’d be leaving Congress.

Oof: VP Biden used the same line for Mikulski as he did for Barbara Boxer in Jan.: "Two years of BM is like six years of any other senator"…

That does sound familiar:

Biden: “Two years of Barbara Boxer is like having four to six years of any other Senator."

Originality is not one of Joe Biden’s strong suits.
