Reporter Sharyl Attkisson has claimed that her computers were compromised “on multiple occasions” during times she was investigating various Obama administration scandals. Attkisson has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Justice Department over the alleged hacking of her computers.
Politico’s Dylan Byers is skeptical:
#Realtalk: If you believe U.S. gov hacked your computers this isn’t the way you go about doing it… if you want publicity, on the other hand
— Dylan Byers (@DylanByers) January 5, 2015
Is Attkisson doing all this for publicity? Katie Pavlich, who has blasted the media for believing the administration over Attkisson, suggested that Byers might want to re-focus:
DOJ has a history of illegally surveying reporters, why not scrutinize them instead of accusing Attkisson of wanting publicity @dylanbyers?
— Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) January 5, 2015
.@KatiePavlich @DylanByers He's nothing but an Obama soldier. Were it Bush? We know. Ignore him.
— Mark O. Van Wagoner (@VanWagoner) January 5, 2015
@KatiePavlich @DylanByers He's OK with it as long as it's certain reporters.

Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey wants to know what protocol Byers would suggest Attkisson follow:
@DylanByers She's filing an admin claim and going to court. How else would you deal with it?

But Sharyl Attkisson had the harshest words for Byers:
@DylanByers is still a bit upset over getting called out over the misleading @politico article http://t.co/VfpcSFTFGY

@DylanByers may think it's best to wait and see if the govt. files charges against itself.

Be skeptical of those who attack those blowing the whistle or asking tough questions–instead of the public officials implicated.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) January 5, 2015
Be wary of those who choose not to question authority but instead only question those who question authority. @DylanByers
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) January 5, 2015
@EdMorrissey @DylanByers He's just mad at me. So not much nice will be said. Would be so interesting if same scrutiny would be applied to
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) January 5, 2015
@EdMorrissey @DylanByers the wrongdoers…or alleged wrongdoers…or elected or public officials. But that is not to be in many cases.
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) January 5, 2015
It's a propaganda trend described in the book: interests attacking and controversializing those who question authority. @DylanByers
— Sharyl Attkisson?️♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) January 5, 2015
Questioning authority is acceptable … during some administrations.
.@DylanByers giving journalism advice to @SharylAttkisson akin to 50 Cent instructing Clayton Kershaw on throwing a baseball.
